Charro Days Fiesta

- that's me at one of the Charro Days parties a couple years ago (with some coworkers) wearing an authentic Yucatan costume. (the picture came out in the paper)

Brownsville has been celebrating Charro Days (always the last week in Feb) for 71 years! Those of us that grew up in Bville remember the children's parade (mostly all schools participate) and the carnival ,,,if you were so lucky. Those who don't know what it is...it is a fiesta celebrating the sister cities of Brownsville/Matamoros,MX. There are parades, a carnival, a Sombrero fest with lots of great, unhealthy food, music, dancing, etc...This week is filled with lots of Charro costume parties..with Mariachis, free food and drinks...Its one of the things I miss in Brownsville...
